Signs of Drug and Alcohol Use By Teens

Friday, March 20
5:30-7:30pm
Godwin High School, 2101 Pump Road

Join the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office, Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services, Henrico Public Schools, Henrico County Police Division, Henrico County Division of Fire, Commonwealth Attorney,  and Henrico Too Smart 2 Start for a free community initiative to help educate parents and caregivers on possible signs of drug and alcohol use by teens. The event replicates a teenager’s bedroom to allow parents to search and try to find indicators of alcohol and drug use. Discover how alcohol and drugs can be easily hidden in a teenager’s bedroom and learn of ways to engage in proactive and healthy discussions to prevent risky behaviors.

Along with an interactive presentation on how spot signs of teen drug and alcohol use, the event will include:

  • Rapid ‘REVIVE!’ training for life-saving opioid overdose medication Naloxone (also known as Narcan)
  • Speaker Brooke Davis will share her personal experience with caring for and losing a loved one to addiction
  • A meet-and-greet with service providers

Henrico parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
